Web site management and hosting
Web site hostingInfoPoint hosts most of the sites it creates on it's own servers. InfoPoint has daily backups, mirroring and data replication for it's databases. It does not have redundant phone connections and has had only two or three hours per year of downtime. For the vast majority of customers the additional expense of co-location at a co-location facility makes no sense. InfoPoint maintains various software to support the Web site including Cybercash servers; SQL database, such as Postgres, MySQL; extensive language support including Perl, PHP, C, Java, and others. InfoPoint uses Solaris and Linux for servers and its internal network can interoperate with Windows and Mac. InfoPoint uses the sophisticated software development environment in building Web sites for its customers. It does not host Web sites that it has not created and is not a "Web hosting service" in that sense. Its networks are protected by firewalls and other security. Web hardware managementFor customers that require super reliability we set up virtual private data networks with a co-location facility. This allows InfoPoint to make the site virtually part of it's network. The cost for this depends on several factors including: type and number of servers, how many facilities have servers, type of hardware and software maintenance. Web site management
InfoPoint has a retainer-based system that allows customers to ask us to make changes to their Web site through out the year. This can range from minor to time consuming; based on how extensively the Web site is being used and changed. |
