A non-profit volunteer organization whose purpose is to maintain and preserve, the birthplace and boyhood home of John Steinbeck, The Steinbeck House, and create new revenues for charities in the Salinas Valley, California.



Dine... in the beautifully restored Victorian home of John Steinbeck's family. Enjoy a delicious gourmet luncheon featuring local Salinas Valley produce and Monterey County wines.

Shop... at the Best Cellar Gift Shop, a treasure trove of Steinbeck books, including first editions, Steinbeck House cook books and individual recipes and wonderful gift items.

Tour... the home and view family heirlooms, precious mementos and photographs. Summertime tours are available on Sundays 1-3pm Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Reserve... the home for catered private parties for a maximum of dinner 55 guests or reception for 80 guests.
