The WOMEN'S ORGANIC FLOWER
ENTERPRISE (WOFE)
, a program of the Homeless Garden Project, provides job training and
meaningful work to homeless and low-income women.
WOFE's organic garden and workshop provide a nurturing space where women
feel safe, where healing can take place, and where women learn to help
themselves. Staff, volunteers and artisans at WOFE design everlasting floral
gifts and beeswax candles.
In our journey toward self-sufficiency, we invite our customers to enjoy
our exquisite hand-crafted gift line, while joining in the effort to end
homelessness.
WOFE's products include hand-dipped beeswax candles, wreaths, birch hearts,
potpourri, and gift cards. Our products are available at our gift shop at
127 Washington Street in downtown Santa Cruz. A partial selection of our
products is available in selected California gift shops, catalogs and online at
greenmarketplace.com. In 1998 and 1999, WOFE operated a holiday gift
shop in the Pacific Garden Mall in downtown Santa Cruz. Our goal is to operate
such a shop in 2000 as well.
