Mission Statement:
Our mission is to raise community awareness of diabetes,
to empower those individuals with diabetes to improve their overall well-being
and lifestyle and to support medical research towards preventing
complications and finding a cure.

About Our Camps
Program Goals:
To have fun, to gain a better understanding of diabetes,
to develop confidence in effective diabetes self management techniques, to
learn and expand social skills - effective communication, interpersonal
relations, social values, independence and group living.
Medical Care:
Each camper's insulin, syringes and blood testing supplies are
provided at camp. Medical personnel includes: Physicians and nurses
who are available for individualized diabetes care, emergencies and minor
illnesses.
Camper Ratios:
Each cabin has ten campers with 2 counselors and 1 nurse.
Staff members are trained in the care of persons with insulin-dependent
diabetes and include medical students and persons with diabetes.
Fees and Camperships:
No child is ever denied access to the camp for financial reasons. Families that are unable to pay full fee are encouraged to request financial assistance by calling the Diabetes Society.
